Description
For more than a century, Chelsea Clock has been supplying clocks to the U.S. Navy. When you purchase this timepiece, you're getting a genuine WWII engine room mechanical clock that has withstood the heat of battle. It was sold on October 23, 1943, with serial #401074, being used during the final two years of the war and many years after. With its official service life complete, we have restored our original 6" mechanical deck clock and now offer it to anyone who wants to own a real piece of U.S. history.
This clock design was the basis for our contemporary Patriot clock collection, and you can see why many of the original elements were left intact. We worked with the navy to come up with the phenolic resin used to make the case. It's heat-resistant, rustproof and shatterproof - three features that still are a must on ship decks. The black dial uses both 12- and 24-hour time formatting. While the numerals were originally white, they have turned bronze over the decades, which accentuates the vintage style. Our master technicians have rebuilt the 12E mechanical movement so it works as good as new.
A real 1943 U.S. Marine clock is an amazing treasure for military enthusiasts and clock collectors alike. It even has the official U.S. Navy seal on the clock face. Enjoy this piece for yourself or surprise a loved one with a venerable gift. We stand behind our antique clock restoration with a two-year warranty. Remember to browse our full collection of vintage military clocks for other gems.
